| Objective: To evaluate the influence of Xin Sheng Mai San Tablets on the the plasmaof vaso-active substances in patients with heart failure.Methods: 40 CHF patients were randomly divided into treatment group(n=20)treated by normal medicine combined with Xin Sheng Mai San Pian Tablet, and control group (n = 20) by normal medicine only for a total of 4 weeks. Plasma levels of ET , Ang II , ALD , ANP were measured by radioimmunoassay and immunoradiometric assay, the scores of TCM syndromes and life quality were evaluated, Doppler echocardiography was performed to evaluate CO, EF, LVED and LVMI ,in these patients before and after treatment.Result: (1)There was a significant difference of TCM score and life quality score changes in patients of treatment group (t=3.00, 4.07, P<0.05) . with significant between-group difference; (t= — 3.19, 1.73, P<0.05) (2)There was significant difference of ET, Ang II changes in patients of treatment group (t=3.39 3.36, P<0.05) , with significant between-group difference (t=—1.49 —1.81, P<0.05);.(3)There was a significant difference of EF in patients of two groups (t=3.26, 3.47, P<0.05), with no significant between-group difference (t=3.58, P>0.05) .There was a significant difference of LVMI changes in patients of treatment group(t=3.87, P<0.05), with significant between-group difference (t=-1.83, P<0.05) .Conclusion: Xin Sheng Mai San Tablets inhibits the activity of ET and Ang II .and may play a role in reversing left ventricular remodeling.
