Clinical Observation Of Sheng Mai Yang Xin Granules In The Treatment Of Elderly Chronic Heart Failure Patients With Qi-Yin Deficient

Aims:This study investigates the effects of Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules(in addition to routine treatment)in treating elderly chronic heart failure(CHF)patients of Qi-Yin deficinet by observing the changes in heart structure,relevant indices,clinical effectiveness,and effectiveness according to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score.The efficacy and safety of Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules is also evaluatedMethod:60 elderly patients with chronic heart failure(CHF)of Qi-Yin deficinet were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group was given routine treatment constituted by western medicine,while the treatment group was given Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules in addition to routine regime.After 8 weeks,changes in NYHA grading,TCM syndrome score,left ventricular dilating diameter(LVDd),left ventricular systolic diameter(LVSd),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP)were recorded.These data were used to evaluate the efficacy of Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules from both clinical and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome perspectives.Results1.Comparison of clinical efficacy between the two groups:after treatment,Total effective rate of the treatment group(83.30%)was significantly different(p<0.05)from that of the control group(63.33%)2.Comparison the efficacy of TCM symptoms between the two groups:Similarly effective rate based on TCM syndrome score was significantly higher(p<0.05)in the treatment group(90.00%)than the control group(66.67%).3.Cardiac structural indicators were compared between the two groups:Both groups of the LVDd and LVSd were significantly improved after treatment(p<0.01)and no statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups(p>0.05).4.The cardiac function indexes of the two groups were compared:BNP were also significantly improved after treatment(p<0.01)while the improvement in treatment group was better than the control group(p<0.01).LVEF were also significantly improved after treatment(p<0.01)while the improvement in treatment group was better than the control group(p<0.05)Conclusion:This study demonstrates that Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules effectively improves LVEF and lowers BNP level.In addition,Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules mitigate the clinical symptoms of patients by enhancing their heart function.Combined with routine treatment using western medicine,Sheng Mai Yang Xin granules provide a safe and effective treatment to CHF.
