Clinical And Foundational Study On Treatment Of Glaucomatous Optic Atrophy With Acupuncture

Purpose: To obseove acupuncture treatment function of treating glaucomatous optic atrophy. Methods:1. The 66 (124eyes) case with glaucomatous optic atrophy patient were randomly divided into a western medicine group and an acupuncture group. They were respectively treated by western medicine and acupuncture. Compare in two kinds of treatment methods in many aspects, such as eyesight, field of vision, VEP, etc. And analysis the influence of medical histony and age to curative effect.2. Twenty hares were divided randomly into four groups: group, contrast with itself group, and control group. The hares of first three groups establish glaucoma models. When the intraocular pressune <21mmHg, western medicine group and acupuncture group were treated for 15 days. The changes of retinal and optic nerve form were observed under light microscope and electron microscope.Result:1. The improvements of eyesight and field of vision in the acupuncture group were superior to that in western medicine group (P<0.05).2. In study of P-VEP, the P100 wave delitesconce shorten (P<0.05), N135 wave amplitude rised (P<0.05); In study of F-VEP, N3 and N4 wave's delitescence shorten (P<0.05).3. Medical record and age has influence to curative effects, longer medical record and old age delites, when longer medical record and old age, the curativge effects were descended.4. Under light microscope and electron microscope, the retinal and optic nerve form were improved in acupuncture group of hare.
