Objective: By studying the analyses on the adult's body compositions in current situation in Suzhou and related influence factors, and then examining the variation regular patterns of indexes of body compositions in different ranges of age and the current situation of overweight and obesity, the research can provide evidences for the corresponding settlement measures made by the departments concerned and advance the construction of Suzhou as a health city. Methods: On the basis of the physical fitness test, this research adopted the InBody 3.0 human body composition analyzer, made by Korean Biospace Company, to measure the indexes about the body compositions of adults who are 20~59 years old in Suzhou; to have an in-depth investigation on related influence factors in the form of questionnaires. Results: (1) The internal total body water, the total weight of protein, and the total weight of mineral all present a variation tendency that it rises first falls afterwards with the increase of age. But the relative contents of weight of the three elements present the tendency that it decreases gradually with the increase of age. Compared with the ranges of age, it has a distinctive diversity (P<0.01), that the male are prior to the female in terms of their amounts and the relative contents of weight. (2) BF, BF% and WHR increases with the increase of age. For the male, it increases distinctively (P<0.01) during the age of 25~34 years old; it also increases during the ranges of 40~44 and 50~54 years old (P0.05); it gets its peak state in the range of 40~44. For the female, during the 35~44 and 50~54 years old, it shows obviously increase (P<0.05), and it gets its peak state in the range of 50~54 years old. in terms of the body fat, the female are prior to the male at different ranges of age, expect for the almost same at the range of 30~34 years old. (3) BW, LBM and BMI all show a variation tendency that it rises first falls afterwards with the increase of age, except for the variations on genders and the ranges of age. (4) The relationshipsamong WHR, BF% and BMI have direct correlations. However, the correlation coefficient between WHR and BF% is the biggest; the next is WHR and BMI; the last is BMI and BF%. in terms of the correlation coefficient of the three indexes, the female are all inferior to the male at different ranges of age. (5) For the male, the rate of overweight rises year by year with the increase of age during the range of 20~44, its peak state appears in the range of 50~59; For the female, the rate of overweight rises quickly during the range of 34~54, its peak state also appears during 50~59. The rate of obesity presents the a tendency that it rises first falls afterwards with the increase of age: the male's peak state appears at 45—49 years old, the female's appears at 50—54. Conclusion: For the male adults in Suzhou, it is during the range of 40~44 years old that their body compositions are the most full; and for the female,50~54 is the excellent range. During the two ranges of age, the occur rate of overweight and obesity rises to the highest level. Keeping regular diet and doing moderate physical exercises can prevent overweight and obesity from occurring.
