Objective 1) To explore the effect of shenfu injection on promoting healing of deep partial-thickness burn wound in rats. 2) To study the mechanism of shenfu injection's effect on burn wound healing.Methods 1) Sixteen Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly selected, deep partial-thickness burns with 20% of the body surface were inflicted. The rats were randomly divided into 2 groups.Then the experimental group was treated with abdominal injection of shenfu 20ml/kg.d ,and the control group was treated with the same dose of 0.9% saline solution.The two groups were injected continuously for 5 days. Then we compare their healing time and the cure race of the traumatic wound respectively.The growth of granulation tissue and collagen fibers were evaluated under light microscope at the seventh and the fourteenth day.The growth of fibroblast was observed under transmission electron microscope at the fourteenth day.2)In this part,sixteen SD rats were randomlydivided into two groups.The rats were treated as part one.24 hours, 3 days and5days after the burns, Biopsies were done on the wound. Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA) and Superoxide Dismutase(SOD) level were measured and analysed.Result All rats had survived until wound healing. The healing time of the experimental group(20.88±1.36) was shorter than that of the controlgroup(22.94±2.16) (PO.05). Comparing the two group's cure race of the traumatic wound at the the seventh and the fourteenth day,the experimental group's was higher than the control group's(P<0.05).Light microscope observation showed that the growth of granulation tissue and collagen fibers of the experimental group were much better than that of the control group.Through transmission electron microscope.we observed that the fiberblast of the experimental group were more eugenic than that of the control group.Furthermore, the experimental group's MDA and SOD level were higherthan that of the control group at the first, third and fifth day after burns (P<0.05).Conclusion In this experiment ,we conclude that shenfu injection could significantly promote wound healing of deep partial thickness burn. It may possibly get this effect through anti-oxidation.
