Using multivesicular liposome(DepoFoam) as the carrier of the routine magnetic resonance contrast media and we got the particles diameter about 13-25μm with 50% encapsulation rate. The imaging in vitro showed us the singnal intensity were the same between DepoGd and Gd—DTPA in the same Moore concentration. The distribution test in mice showed us that DepoGd has a good pulmonary targeting quality and about 40% particles stayed in the lung. The distribution test and fluorescence test in mice all confirm that bigger DepoFoam particles can be made the same diameter as pulmonary capillary vessel, to prolong the time staying in the lung after injection with good pulmonary targeting quality.
