Significance Of Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 And Matrix Metalloproteinase-2 Expression In Serum In Human Papillary Thyroid Gland Carcinomas

objective: To investigate the significance of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) expression in serum in human papillary thyroid gland carcinomas. Methods: Expression of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in serunm of 23 patients with papillary thyroid gland carcinoma, 30 patients with benign thyroid gland tumors and 30 healthy control ones were detected by ELISA method respectively, and then the relationships between the expression of MMP-9 ,MMP-2 in serunm and papillary thyroid gland carcinoma were analysed. Results: The expression of MMP-9 ,MMP-2 in serunm of patients with papillary thyroid gland carcinoma was higher than of those with benign thyroid gland tumors and those of healthy control ones significantly(p<0.01),while there was no significantly difference between patients with benign thyroid gland tumors and healthy control ones on the expression of MMP-9 ,MMP-2 in serum. Conclusions: The overexpression of MMP-9 and MMP-2 were significantly correlated with human papillary thyroid gland carcinomas,and may serve as an important estimate index before operation.
