| Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Tertram ethylpyrazine in prophylaxis for deep vein thrombosis after total hip arthroplasty. Methods: From January 2001 to November 2005, 220 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty in the Gansu hospital of TCM were double-blind randomized into 2 groups for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis. Group A(110) were controls, daily received low molecular weight heparin, 0. 4ml subcutaneous injection 12h— 10d after operation. Group B(110)received Tertram ethylpyrazine 240 mg+5%GS 250ml, on each of the 10 days after surgery. Tow group received the same operation and other treatments, the volume of drainage, complications and swelling of lower limb after operation were recorded. At the same time, blood samples were retrieved for rheology evaluation. Results: The examinations of color Doppler ultrasound were preformed prior to surgery and 7days after. The incidence of DVT was 6. 36%(7) in the group A, 8. 18%(9) in the group B (P>0.05) .The volume of drainage was 342. 2 + 231. 6ml (Group A) and 288. 2+141. 6ml (Group B) (P<0.05);lower limb was obviously swelled at the 1th day after operation (P< 0. 05) ,and decreased at the 7th day (P>0.05);compared with preoperation, blood viscosity (Bv)and plasma viscosity(Pv) were decreased at the 1th day , and increased at the 3th and 7th day after operation, Erythrocyte aggregate index(EAI) gradually increased Group A was significant at the 3"' and 7th day (P<0. 05) after operation and group B was significant at the 3"' but not deferent at the 7th (P>0. 05) .Conclusion: Tertram ethylpyrazine can effectively prophylaxis the incidence of deep vein thrombosis, and less compications. |
