Objective To investigate the levels of plasma resistin, Complement C3 and C reaction-protein in type 2 diabetes and to explore their roles in this disease and to find the correlation between these adipokine hormone levels and the metabolic of glucose and lipids. Methods According to the body mass index(BMI ),65 type 2 diabetes patients were divided into two groups, one group was non-obese diabetes patients with BMI <25 kg / m~2(32 cases) and the other group was obese diabetes patients with BMI>25 (33 cases). There were 32 healthy persons in the control group. ELISA technique were employed to determine the plasma resistin concentration. Complement C3 ,C reaction-protein and microalbuminuria were measured by an immunoturbidimetric assay;blood pressure, height, other data including body weight, waist circumference and hip circumference were measured to calculate BMI and waist-hip ratio(WHR).at the same time automatic analytical instrument was used to determine blood sugar and blood fat;White blood cell count was detected by an auto-hematology analyzer instrument and insulin resistance index and insulin sensitive index were calculated by the HOMA-IR.Results①The levels of plasma resistin and CRP were increased significantly in obese T2DM group compared with that in control group (P<0.01,);moreover,in obese T2DMgroup were significantly increased compared with that in non-obese T2DM group (P<0.05) also and plasma resistin correlated positively with CRP.?The level of plasma Complement C3 were increased significantly in obese T2DM group compare with that in control group (P<0.05);but the C3 level of non-obese T2DM group are lower than that of the control group, levels of C3 correlated positively with plasma resistin.?White blood cell count of obese T2DM group were higher than that of the control group and non-obese T2DM group, but difference was not statistical significance(P>0.05).?Blood fasting sugars in patients with obese T2DM (9.90±3.30mmol / L)increased significantly(P<0.01) compared with the control group, so did insulin levels(13.1O±5.8OmU / L)compared with the control (PO.01).?Correlate analysis showed that fasting serum resistin concentration was a positive correlated with BMI, HOMA-IR, fasting insulin, LDL and triglyceridemia(r=0.403 P<0.01, r=0.337 PO.05, r=0.625 PO.01, r=0.391 PO.05, r=0.312,P<0.01), No correlation between resistin and fasting glucose, blood pressure, WHR, age, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein were found.?Microalbuminuria increased significantly in the patient group(P<0.05).Correlate analysis showed that microalbuminuria was a positive correlated with fasting serum resistin concentration, but no correlation with C3.Conclusion?The levels of plasma resistin were increased significantly in obese T2DM groupcompared with that in control group .and Correlate analysis showed that fasting serum resistin concentration was a positive correlated with BMI, HOMA—IR, it predicted that serum resistin maybe was the link between obese and diabetes .?The level of plasma Complement C3 and CRP were increased significantly in obese T2DM group compared with that in control group, and correlated positively with plasma resistin. Showed that C3 and CRP were factor to predict obese developing to diabetes ,but CRP was more valuable.
