Objective: To explore the effect of levamisole on T-cell subpopulation in Kunming mice infected with Echinococcus granulosus about immunologcal regulation and the outcome of desease. Method: After abdominal inoculation of Echinococcus granulosus, mice were respectively treated with levomisole and normal saline. We researched the CD4+ T cell and CD4+ T cell levels using FCM and spleen exponent, thymus exponent, aberage weight of cyst. Results: As compared with uninfected control, the CD4+ T cell and CD4+ T cell levels of mice treated with normal saline showed a significant increase(p<0.01) after 2 weeks post infection(p.i),then CD4+ T cell levels decreased and CD8+ T cell levels increased gradually.Since 16 weeks p.i, the percentage of CD4+ T cell were higher than that of uninfected control(p<0.01) and the percentage of CD4+ T cell were lower than that of uninfected control (p<0.01).There was a significant drop down of CD4+ / CD8+ ratio since 16 weeks p.i(p<0.01).As compared with mice treated with normalsaline, the CD4+ T cell levels increased and CDs* T cell levels decreased in mice treated with levamisole after 16 weeks p.i.At the same time, CD/ / CDg+ ratio and spleen exponent increase and average weight of cyst decreased(p<0.01). Conclusion: CD4+ T cell is mainly response in the early stage of infection, CD4+ T cell response is replaced by CDg+ T cell response in later period of infection. Levamisole can regulate the immune response of mice infected with Echinococcus granulosus.
