Objective: This study was to investigate the association between HLA gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus as well as diabetic nephropathy, to detect the susceptible and protective HLA alleles and haplotypes in Tianjin type 2 diabetes mellitus and diabetic nephropathy. Methods: A total of 462 persons were involved in the study. The participants included of 100 control subjects, who were health volunteer from some company (50 male, 50 female , average age was 56. 0 ± 4. 7) as group normal control (NC), 362 patients (type 2 diabetes mellitus group), who were selected from the inpatients in Metabolism Disease Hospital, Tianjin Medical University. According to urine albumin excretion rate(UAER) and renal function, it was classified into four groups, the normal albuminuria group(DNO group, 100 people, 47 male and 53 female, average age was 58. 0 ± 9. 5 years ), the microalbuminuria group (DN1 group, 104 people, 50 male and 54 female, average age was 57.0 ± 4.3 years), the macroalbuminuria group (DN2 group, 106 people, 55 male and 51 male, average age was 59.0 ± 6.4 years), and renal failure group(DN3 group, 52 people , 27 male and 25 female , average age was 60.0 ± 5.2 years). Clinical data was collected, and genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood cells using a Protease K Fasting Burst Technique. Based on the special sequences of different sub-type gene of HLA, the specific...
