| Objective:To observe the clinical efficiency of linear polarized lightirradiation near the stellate ganglion on treating migraine without aura,additionally to provide scientific basic for clinical treatment. Methods:We collected 76 migraine without aura patients in Rehabilitationcentre of the first hospital of Jilin university during 2004.3-2005.9,and them were randomly divided into two groups, including 38patients in treatment group and the other 38 patients in control group.There was no significant difference in clinical features between thetwo groups. Patients in treatment group ware treated with linearpolarized light irradiation near the stellate ganglion one time per day(powerout 50%-90%, irradiate one side a day, then irradiatethe theother side by turn, the exposure duration 10 min), It's 8 procedures for1 course and 2 courses with 5d interval. patients in control group weretreated with Nimodipine three times per day with each time 40mg,taken by mouth after meels, 4 weeks in succession. after treatment weobserved changes of the clinical features such as the headachefrequency, Headache duration and Headache degree in both group. Wealso determined endothelin (ET) and substance P (S.P). in both groupbetween before treatment and after treatment. Results:(1)Headache of both groups were alleviated after the treatment.Headache duration was obviously shortened. And Headache frequencywas reduced in two groups (p<0.05), The total efficiency rates oftreatment group was obviously higher than the control group (P<0.05).(2)The SP of both group in after treatment was lower thanthat in before treatment (P<0.05);Compared with the control group,the SP in the treatment group were significantly increased, There wassignificant difference between the treatment group and the controlgroup (P<0.05).(3)The ET of both group in after treatment was lower thanthat in before treatment (P<0.05);Compared with the control group,the ET in the treatment group were significantly increased, Therewas significant difference between the treatment group and the controlgroup (P<0.05)。(4)There is no obvious side effect in the course of both group.Conclusion:Migraine, whose prevalence rate is high, is one kind of the mostcommon headaches in people. Its main clinical manifestation isperiodic, paroxysmal, plusatic and acute pain in one lateral or bilateralhead, lasting several hours to more than ten hours, even to one day.During its attack, there are many symptoms of autonomic nervoussystem. The pathogen of migraine is extremely complicated, so thepathogenesis has not been clear yet. In recent years, the theories inmainstream include vein origin theory, trigeminal-vein theory, nerveorigin theory, and so on.the vasoconstriction andvasodilator-dysfunction in cerebrovasa is considered of as thepathology base during its attack. linear polarized light irradiation nearthe stellate ganglion can release the urterial cramps,regulate thearterial contract and relax, obviously improve clinical symptom ofmigraine patients. These results suggest that linear polarized lightirradiation near the stellate ganglion could treat migraine without auraeffectively. without side effect. |
