Objective:To investigate the factors that affect the recovery of stereopsis after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) for myopia and to evaluate the effect of this refractive surgery in terms of the highest class of the vision. Methods:The stereoacuity ,which include the crossed disparity and the uncrossed disparity, was tested in 65 myopic patients pre-opration and post- 1 week and post- 1 month with the synoptophore combined with the Yan's random—dot stereogram for distant stereopsis and with the binocular stereogram for near stereopsis. Furthermore, the identificating time to minimal stereoacuity thresholds of distant stereopsis was measured simultaneously .Results:After operation of the LASIK, with the recovery of the distant visual acuity up to 0.8 the normal central stereopsis was restored in 64 myopic patients. The identificating time to minimal stereoacuity threshold is shorter than that of pre-operation.Conclusion : LASIK may effectively correct general myopia and anisometropia . With distant visual acuity recovery, isopia get to a balance between the accommodative convergency and the accommodation(AC/A),and in favor of forming the binocular single vision and stereopsis , especially for anisometropia .
