Objective:To fliter Chinese herbal medicine ligustrazine as standard control remedy,it is well known that the effect of ligustrazine is safe and reliable,which has been fully borne out by animal experiment and clinical practice,making use of atherosclerostic rat model indused by high fat and high cholesterol diet to observe the effect of the effective elements of Supplementing qi and Activating blood circulation Chinese herbal medicine Astragalus and Panax Notoginseng—Astragalus Quercetin and Total Panax Notoginseng Saponins,to explore effects of Quercetin and Total Panax Notoginseng Saponins were employed singly and two different proportional combinations of them on expression of CD40L in serum and abdominal aorta tissue of atheroclerotic model rat,to further research the expression of CD40L to have an influence upon Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 with close relation to atheroclerosis,to analysis the relativity of CD40L and Matrix Metalloproteinase,to access the effectiveness of treatment of Supplementing qi and Activating blood circulation principle,to expound the anti-atheroclerosis mechanism of the two effective elements on protein level,and provide theoretical foundation for clinical application.Method:In this study, there were 64 rats. At first,64 male healthy Wistar rats were divided randomly into normal control group and model-making group. There were 10 rats in Normal group,and the model-making group consisted of 54 rats. And all rats ate food and drank water freely. Normal group was fed randomly with common fodder. Model-making group was assigned randomly to receive high fat and cholesterol diet. After 3 months,selecting 2 rats at random from normal control group to anatomize and take abdominal aorta tissue to have physiology examination,selecting 6 rats at random from model-making group to anatomize and take abdominal aorta tissue to have pathological examination,and observe the change of abdominal aorta tissue,and testify that the atheroclerosis rat models were successful.After the rat models were made,the model-making group rats induced by high fat and cholesterol diet of 90 days would be fed on usual diet,instead of feeding on high fat diet. the remainder of 48 rats in model-making group were divided into 6 groups at random again(8 rats/group). These rats were intervened by different herbs respectively.
