Objective: Our objective was to investigate the interactions between common polymorphisms in HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR) gene, ABCAl gene and the plasma lipid levels, and to compare therapeutic effect of simvastatin in different genotypes.Method: Eighty hypercholesterolemic patients were included in this study by standard of selection. Subjects entering the study were treated with 20mg/d simvastatin for 8 weeks. Levels of serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment. During the period of treatment, adverse drug reaction was been monitored. HMGCR and ABCAl gene polymorphism in patients was detected by Taqman technology to study its correlation with serum lipids levels and different therapeutic effects of simvastatin. Results: (1) All of patients completed this study, no severe adverse drug reaction happened. (2) Three genotypes were detected in HMGCR single nucleotide polymorphisms of NO.7 intron in our study, 51 patients with AA genotypes, 29 patients...
