Objective: Incidence of spinal cord injury increases in rencent years, due to rapid development of industry and economics, especially transportation and architecture. High mortality and mobidity of the spinal cord injury result from heavy economic and psychic burden for society and their family. Neurofunctional recover is almost hopeless, especially spinal cord transection injury. This difficult problem might be solved if connection were reconstructed effectively among the impaired neurons. With tissue engineering development, a kind of advanced repair theory was established to rebuild a close connection between the axons and target cells in the spinal cord injury. Combined transplantation of neural stem cell with supporting frame may be an effective way to achieve the goal. The purpose of this study is to observe biological compatibility of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (HUMSCs) in a novel neural supporting frame in vitro by light and electron microscopy, to provide more evidence for application in experimental or clinical spinal cord transection injury in future. Methods: 1. Spinal cords were excised about 5cm, cleaned...
