Objective: Now the incidence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is increasing gradually. It has been found that the NAFLD is no longer a benign disease in the experimental research. NAFLD can not only progress to hepatic fibrosis and cryptogenic cirrhosis, but also can develop hepatocellular carcinoma. The hepatocytes of mammal are mostly quiet.but pathologic state such as inflammation and necrosis , intoxication and injury can induce the proliferation of hepatocytes quickly. There are chronic oxidative stress, repeating inflammation and necrosis, activation of growth factor and cytokine in NAFLD. Because these factors are the important reasons of proliferation. Can they result in the hepatocyte hyperplasia in NAFLD. What is the meaning of the hepatocyte hyperplasia for the NAFLD? The chronic oxidative stress and insulin resist promote the hepatocyte hyperplasia ,and they also exert significant influence in the progression of canceration. Because the ROS can result in gene mutation and chromosome modification ,it is the important carcinogen. Therefore the research of hepatocyte proliferation was very important, the hepatocyte hyperplasia probabily was related with the hepatocarcinoma in the end-stage accident of NAFLD. The normal liver can quickly proliferate and restitute livers mass and function after the injury lead to the damage of hepatocyte and the decrease of liver volume. This process is called liver regeneration. Some reports exhibit that the capacity of liver regeneration decreasd and the recovery time was prolonged , complication were increasing , even the primary nonfunction after injury, operation and transplant in moderate to severe steatosis. The change of liver regeneration is significant for the paitients of NAFLD.Now the research of the regeneration in NAFLD was very limited and the opinion was not very uniform. In our research the fat-riched diet was used to induce NAFLD in rats. We studied the change of the hepatocyte proliferation and the mechanism of this change in these NAFLD rats. The rats feeded with fat-riched diet for 12 weeks were...
