| Introduction:Aristolochia manshuriensis Kom(AMK) is Chinese herb of Aristolochiaceae Aristolochia. AMK has function of clearing away heart-fire, diuresis, promoting lactation and it is Chinese herb most in use. Vanherweghen et al. (1993) first reported that Aristolochia herbs resulted in chronic renal disease in Belgium. Thereafter, it was reported that 4 patients were chronic renal disease after orally taking a slimming regimen containing Arisoltchia fangchi in France. Two female patients from Britain were reported to have renal failure 2~4 years after taking Chinese herb containing AMK to treat eczema. So Spain, America, England, Japan, Austria, Egypt had forbid sale and use this kind of Chinese herbs. The term"Chinese Herbs Nephropathy (CHN)"has been widely used in scientific nephrology publication. However, the researchers in China thought that"Aristolochic Acid Nephropathy ( AAN )"should be used and some leading researchers in China and abroad approved it. Studies show that Aristolochic Acid is a carcinogen and mutagen. But there are little researches about AA injuring endocrine system. It is knowned to all that adrenal is the most sensitive gland and its hormone is very important to life.
