Objective: To investigate the distribution of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) in the ovarian carcinoma and its relationship with the prognosis of patients. Methods: The numbers of CD4+, CD8+ was detected by MaxVisionTM immunohistochemistry in ovarian carcinoma, innocence epithelial ovarian tumor and normal ovarian tissues. Results: 1.The median of CD4+,CD8+ in ovarian carcinoma was 12.5 /HPF and 57/HPF,respectively.There was statistical difference with those in innocence epithelial ovarian tumor and normal ovarian tissues. 2.The number of CD4+,CD8+ and the ration (CD4+/CD8+) in the cancer nest were significantly lower than those in the stroma. There was statistical difference with the number of CD4+in the cancer nest and CD4+,CD8+ in the stroma from histological type. 3.The number of CD8+ in the cancer nest and CD4+,CD8+ in the stroma at stage III were significantly higher than those at stage I~II. However the ration (CD4+/CD8+) at stage III in the cancer nest and stroma were significantly lower than those at stage I~II. The number of CD8+ in the stroma with poor differentiation were significantly higher than those with good differentiation. The ration (CD4+/CD8+) in the cancer nest and stroma were significantly lower than those with good differentiation. 4.The rate of survival in the group of higher ration (CD4+/CD8+<0.095) was significantly higher than it in the group of lower ration (CD4+/CD8+≥0.095) by Log-rank .The was concluded that the ration (CD4+/CD8+) was independent factor in the prognosis of ovarian tumor through Cox regression model.
