At the end of 19th century, pathologists had found there must be a certain relationship between fatty liver and liver cirrhosis, alcohol is the main reason. Afterward, people found there were other reasons that could lead to steatohepatitis and liver fibrosis besides alcohol. These kinds of pathologic change was similar to alcoholic fatty liver's, concluding hepatocyte steatosis, lobulus inflammation and puctiform necrosis, Mallory body and liver fibrosis. In 1980, Ludwing first named this pathologic state as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). In the past, people thought NASH was a benign lesion in obesity famale. However, people also found that any race and age could had NASH, whatsmore, NASH could develop into liver fibrosis and liver cirrhosis. Because of the change of food and living style, the incidence of NASH is advancing, people paid more attention to NASH, but there was no particular effective methods for NASH.
