Background and Objective: Diffusion weight imaging (DWI) was the unique method to present the changes of the micro geometry structure of the human body, the motion of the water molecule and the temperature of the cell by performing the molecular diffusion measurement and imaging. The brain DWI has the unique superiority. The incidence of the brain tumor, a serious disease for human being, is increasing recently. CT and MRI can find the location of the brain tumor and the encroachment scope, estimate the type of the brain tumor. But it is difficult to diagnose the hierarchy and the micro tissue precisely. Now many researchers is trying to apply the DWI to the brain tumor, although there are many disputations. The paper is planning to evaluate the routine MRI T1WI,T2WI,FLAIR sequence,DWI and ADC value by the diagnosis of brain tumors and tumor-like lesions and related biophysical mechanism, to analyze the correlation of ADC value and astrocytoma benign, malignant grading and staging or the different tissues of brain tumor.Materials and methods: By invoking the GE signa 1.5T Twin speed Excite II MRI, using conventional and SE-EPI Diffusion imaging, 64 patients of brain tumors and neoplastic lesions who have been pathological conformed are examined. There were 13 metastatic tumors, 12 gliomas (astrocytoma grade I 2, grade II4, grade III2, gradeIV4), 12 meningiomas, 2 hemangioblastoma, 1 hemangioma cavernosum, 1 NHL, 1 gangliocytoma, 8 brain abscess , 6 epidermoid cyst, 7 arachnoid cyst and 1 cerebral cyst.
