The class III malocclusion calming of teenager has been carried out generally. In crest-time of growth and development, orthopedic force is usually exerted to draw mandibula back to treat bony or functional class III malocclusion in earlier period. The orthopedic force can stimulate condylar cartilage to remodel and adjust form and location of the bone . But molecule regulation mechanisms of remodeling of condylar cartilage and growth of mandibula after functional orthopedics is not clear.In this research, After drawing rat's mandibula back by functional appliance, morphologic and histological change of rat's temporomandibular articulation structure and mandibula was observed, then expression and distribution of TGF- β 1,TGF- β R1,IGF-1 in mandibular condylar cartilage were detected by immunohistochemistry and image analytical technique. So molecule regulation mechanisms of remodeling of condylar cartilage after drawing rat's mandibula back by functional appliance can be elucidated,and experiment proof of functional orthopedics can be obtained.
