objective Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a big problem for fertile women , estimated to be l%-2% , and among 50%—70% of them, there are no definite causes can be found . The trophoblasts of early pregnancy have similar biological characteristics with malignant tumors, they are even more invasive than the malignant tumor. The difference between them is the invasion depth of trophoblasts is limited and is strictly regulated by many mechanisms. Recently, it is reported that insufficient invasion of trophoblasts is related with spontaneous abortion and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, and on the contrary excessive invasion will result in gestational trophoblastic tumors. Osteopontin(OPN) , matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase (TIMP) are related with the invasion of early gestational trophoblasts. We try to investigate the expression and distribution of OPN and the expressions of MMP-2, MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TIMP-3 mRNA in the deciduas and trophoblasts of normal pregnancy and RSA, then we hope to find the possible functions of invasion-related factors in the development of RSA. Methods 20 women with a history of RSA that seeked helps in the family planning clinic were selected as RSA group, and 30 women in early normal pregnancy as control. The deciduas and trophoblasts of the two groups were gotten in the asepsis operations. Gained the total RNA separately, and detected the expression of OPN, MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA in the trophoblasts...
