Expression And Significance Of COX-2,VEGF,MMP-9 And TIMP-1 In Endometriosis

Objective: To observe the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) and tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) in endometriosis, and to study the possible role of them in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods: Use 35 cases of endometriosis as a research group( including 16 nonfertile cases and 19 pregnant cases) and 35 instantaneous cases of normal endometrium as a contrast group. Detect expressions of COX-2, VEGF, MMP-9, TIMP-1 and C0X-2mRNA, MMP-9mRNA in normal endometrium as well as ectopic and eutopic endometriotic tissues by means of immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR), and analyze the results by SPSS 11.0 statistical software, which finds P<0.05 to be markedly different.Results: (1)The expression level of COX-2 and COX-2mRNA in the ectopic endometriotic tissues was significantly higher than those in the eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium (P all <0.05). The expression level of COX-2 in the eutopic endometrium was significantly higher than that in normal endometrium(P <0.05). (2) The expression level of VEGF in the ectopic endometriotic tissues was significantly higher than those in the eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium(P both <0.05). The expression level of VEGF in the eutopic endometrium was significantly higher than that in normal endometrium(P <0.05).
