Objective: Congestive heart failure is one of the severe cardiovasular diseases of which the morbidity increases rapidly during the recent ten years. Due to the increased morbidity of heart failure in elders, it has caused heavy social and economic burden. Therefore, the research on the pathogenesis and effective therapy will be benefit to improve the quality of life in patients with heart failure. To examine the variation and clinical significance of serum carboxyterminal propeptide of type Ⅰ procollagen (P Ⅰ CP) and aminoterminal propeptide of type Ⅲ procollagen (PIIINP) levels after different therapies in the patients with heart failure. Methods: 86 ( 50 men ) HF patients and 47 healthy individuals (27 men).According to the different therapeutics drugs, Patients were divided into three groups: A groups (ACEI/ARB groups,29),B groups (β-blocker groups,24),C groups (ACEI/ARB +β-blocker groups, 33).Control groups (47 healthy persons,27 men) .The ratio of gender, age among those groups are similar with each other. The serum of P Ⅰ CP and PⅢNP were measured by specific radio-immunoassays in patients with HF whom in their first day and after 6 weeks standard therapy in hospital and healthy individuals. Doppler ultrasound recording were used to calculate left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), maxcimal flow velocity in early and late diastole (V_e and V_a). Nuclear medicine : the concentration of Ang II and ALD.Results: 1. The serum levels of P Ⅰ CP and PⅢNP were increased significantly in CHFpatients as compared with the control (P<0.01) and were paralleled with the...
