ATRA Down Regulate NGAL And The Ratio Of MMP-9/TIMP-1 Of COPD Patients

Objectives:The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in plasma and emphysema pathology, to investigate the activity of NGAL in polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) from patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), to examine whether and how ATRA intervention could change the secretion of MMP-9, TIMP-1 and NGAL, and to reveal the mechanism of emphysema. Methods:Three groups of subjects with 30 cases COPD (COPD group), 20 cases asthma (Asthma group), and 20 cases normal controls (health group) were included in this study.
