Aim: To probe the clinical value in the assessment of liver cirrhosis degree by arrival time of right portal vein with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and velocity and flow volume with CDVP.Methods: Fifty-eitht patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis grouped into compensatory liver cirrhosis (28 cases) and decompensatory liver cirrhosis (30 cases) were enrolled in this study, and 42 patients with non-cirrhosis liver disease consisted of the control group. SonoVue was injected to detecte the arrival time of right portal vein. The velocity and flow volume of right portal vein were measured with CDVP. The differences of every parameter were compared to analyze the relativity. Results: The arrival time of right portal vein was much longer in liver cirrhosis group than in non-cirrhosis group (25.70±1.61s &21.38±0.59s respectively, P<0.05), and much longer in decompensatory liver cirrhosis group than in compensatory liver cirrhosis group (29.58 ±3.44s & 22.19±0.51s respectively, P<0.01). The mean velocity, maximal velocity and flow volume were much lower in liver cirrhosis group than in non-cirrhosis group ( 10.92±0.45cm/s & 13.08±0.46cm/s , 13.93±0.47cm/s & 16.50±0.56cm/s and 384.57±18.39ml/min & 446.40±17.29ml/min respectively , P<0.01), and much lower in decompensatory liver cirrhosis group than in compensatory liver cirrhosis group ( 9.28±0.32cm/s & 12.67±0.74cm/s , 12.20±0.47cm/s & 16.63±0.71cm/s and 280.51±17.08ml/min & 496.05±17.70ml/min respectively, P<0.01) . With the development of liver cirrhosis, the arrival time of right portal vein became even longer (P<0.05) , and the velocity and flow volume became even lower (all P<0.01).
