Objective To investigate the changes of ACE2 expression in the nonin- farcted area of the ventricle after AMI in rats and also the effects of val- sartan on left ventricular remodeling and ACE2 expression.Methods Twenty-four hours after the operations of ligation on the coro- nary arteries, the surviving SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups : AMI group, low-dose valsartan treatment group (10mg·kg-1·d-1)and high-dose valsartan treatment group(30mg·kg-1·d-1). The sham-operated group was also estabished. After four weeks of treatment, the following items were measured:⑴the function of left ventricle;⑵the infarct size of the heart;⑶body weigh(tBW),left ventricular mass(LVM)and left ventricular mass index(LVMI);⑷The collagen volume fraction ( CVF) of the noninfarcted area of the left ventricle;⑸AngⅡlevels of plasma and noninfarcted area of the ventricle ;⑹ACE2 and ACE mRNA levels in the noninfarcted area of the ventricle.Results There was no significant difference in the infarct size of the heart among the AMI group(sP﹥0.05).
