Backgrounds:Calcium ion is a very important ion which can maintain the life activities. Stomach, intestines, skeleton and kidney are the important organs which can adjust the balance of the calcium. All them maintain the metabolism of calcium, phosphorus and bone together. Kidney is not only the main part for the formation of 1,25-(OH)2D3 but also the aim organ and metabolism organ for the PTH, it play a very important function in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus. The body has a strong mechanism to retain and maintain the calcium density in the outside cell fluid. Once the serious lack of the calcium for diet or unusual calcium loss occurred in the body, the bone calcium can be transformed to maintain the stability of the blood calcium. Once the normal structure and function of kidney are damaged caused by various disease, the mineral metabolism will change correspondingly. When the function of kidney reduces continued, hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia appear and then the hyperparathyroidism occurred what are regarded as the essential bio-chemical base lead to a series of hormones secrtion disorder and then bone disease. The chronic kidney disease and serum calcium or phosphorous metabolism disorder are reciprocal causation,The occur rate of ESRD with renal osteodystrophy is 90%-100%.
