OBJECTIVES The model of acute reperfusion injury after cerebral ischemia in rats was established by unilateral middle cerebral artery(MCA) occlusion and bilateral carotid arteries (CCA) occlusion, to investigate the effects and the protective mechanisms of Saponins from Anemarrhean Asphodeloides Bge (SAaB) on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury.METHODS The rats were divided into 5 groups: model group, sham-operate group, group and 2 SAaB groups(low dose group and high dose group). A week before the ischemia occurred, the SAaB, pentoxifylline (PTX)and Saline were garaged to the rats via gastric and lasted for seven days. Then the model of acute reperfusion injury after cerebral ischemia was made by two means: one was clamping bilateral carotid arteries (CBAB ) , the other was jamming the middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) . And the ischemic condition lasted for 2 hours with a following 24 hours reperfusion. Then, we could observe behavior grade of cerebral apoplexy. After that we decapitated the...
