objective To evaluate the clinical feasibility , short-term and medium-term efficiency of using Amplatz thrombectomy device (ATD) in treating massive pulmonary embolism or sub-massive pulmonary embolism. Methods Mechanical thrombectomy with ATD was performed in 13 patients according to massive pulmonary embolism standards. The operation time of ATD was 210 seconds to 350 seconds , average 281.54 ± 36.50 seconds . Thrombolytic drags dose was 350000~500000u. After mechanical thrombosis treatment, 9 patients have placed inferior vena filters. Aimed at the primary disease was continued and low molecular weight heparin(80-100mg/d) was used for a week. After that warfrin was used for 3months-6months. Results Remarkable improvement of clinical behave was observed in 9 patients after operation, whose average heart rates decreased from 86.33±4.15/min to 74.78 ±3.15/min;Systemic arterial oxygen saturation being increased from 85.00 ± 3.64% to 93.22±1.79%; Pulmonary arterial pressure decreased from 45.21±6.07mmHg to 38.33 ± 5.84mmHg; Arterial blood oxygen pressure increased from 60.78±5.94kPa to 71.69±8.59kPa. DSA evaluate were grade 2 of 6 case (1=excellent; 2=good; 3=mild; 4=no changes), grade 3 of 3 case .The clinical effect show significant difference .Moderate improvement of clinical behave was observed in 4 patients, whose average heart rates decreased from 86.25 ± 3.30/min to 79.3 ± 3.74/min; Systemic arterial oxygen saturation being increased from 84.5±2.08% to 90.7± 3.10%; Pulmonary arterial pressure decreased from 47.38 ± 5.71mmHg to 45.08±6.40mmHg; Arterial blood oxygen pressure increased from 73.9 ±...
