Objective : To investigate the effect of Shuizhi-Dilong injection(Shuxuetong, SXT)on cerebral ischemic tolerance induced by focal ischemic preconditioning (IP) and explore the mechanism by the espression of Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF- α ), Interleukin-10 (IL-10), Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), Nerve growth factor (NGF) and Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9). Methods:The model of ischemic tolerance in SD rats was made by middle cerebral artery occlusion two times. To study the effect of Shuxuetong injection promoting cerebral ischemic tolerance in rats and its mechanism. SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: Control group (SS+MCAO), ischemic preconditioning (IP+MCAO) group and ischemic preconditioning with Shuxuetong injection (IP+SXT+MCAO) group, twenty rats for each group. (IP+SXT+MCAO) group: The rats were injected with Shuxuetong injection(10 ml/kg/d) 3 d after 10 min IP. The animals were subjected to 2 h middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) after 3 days and killed after 22 h reperfusion; IP group: except for giving drug, other treatment followed the (IP+SXT+MCAO) group; (SS+MCAO) group: The animals were exposed the anatomic structure, and the other treatment followed the IP group.
