Observation Of The Ultrastructure & Survivin Expression And Significance Of Craniopharyngioma

ObjectsTo observe the ultrastructure of craniopharyngioma, and to study the expression and significance of survivin, an apoptotic suppressor gene, in craniopharyngioma.MethodsFifty specimens and the clinical information of the patients with craniopharyngioma from 2000 to 2005 in West China Hospital of Sichuan University were collected . The microstructure and ultrastructure of craniopharyngioma were observed with the help of light microscope and electron microscope. By using immunohistochemistry (S-P) method, the expression of survivin in craniopharyngioma was detected. The results were analyzed quantitatively by using digital image analysis. The differences of survivin expression were analyzed comparatively among experimental group and control group, different pathological types,male and female, different age groups, different properties of tumors, different courses of disease, and recurrent and non-recurrent groups.
