A Randomized Controlled Two-blinded Trail Of Tranilast For Atopic Dermatitis

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safty of tranilast against atopic dermatitis(AD).Methode: In this trial, we chosen 48 patients from out-patient who were diagnosed as atopic dermatitis based on Hanifin/Rajka criterion.Then they were divided into two groups randomly: the case treating group were taken tranilast orally,in the control group, balm which exterior and packing are uniform to the real were taken,all the patients took Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for external use. Skin lessions were assessed by SCORAD system on the weekend of 0,1,2,3,4 about the range, the severity , itch and the effect on sleep. The curative effect and security were evaluated on the weekend of 4.SAS8.1 software was used for statistical analysis.Results: Among the 23 patients treated with tranilast for four weeks, the clinical efficacy was as follows:fully recovery(6 cases) , significant improvement(9 cases), moderate improvement(4 cases)and no change or mild improvement (4 cases)were observed, the total rate of significant improvement was 65.22%,but in the control group,no patient was fully...
