ObjectSol-gel method was applied to coat titanium with hydroxyapatite containing silver in order to achieve antibacterial and antiadhesive properties in percutaneous and transmucosal devices (PDs).Materials and Methods1. Hydroxyapatite sol was prepared with calcium nitrate tetrahydrate and phosphorus pentoxide ethanol solution. Silver nitrate aqueous solution was added into the sol to respectively get hydroxyapatite sol containing 0 (without), 0.025, 0.04, 0.05mol/kg silver.Polished and cleaned titanium discs were divided into 5 groups. 4 groups were respectively immersed into 4 kinds of hydroxyapatite sol with different sliver concentrations and one group was not immersed as control (respectively marked A, B,C,D and K group).
