Objective To test the change cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway in rats with acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) and the impact of Chai Qin Cheng Qi Decoction (CQCQD) and somatostatin(SS) on the pathway. Methods Seventy SD rats were randomized to 7 groups (control group I , control group II, ANP group I, ANP group II, CQCQD-treated group, SS-treated group and combination-treated group). Each group included 10 rats. Blood samples of control group II, ANP group II, CQCQD-treated group, SS-treated group and combination-treated group were taken six hours, and control group I and ANP group I were taken 1/2 hours after injection of testing agents for biochemical test, which included the test of amylase, TNF-alpha(TNF-a), interleukin-6(IL-6), TChE, and ChAT. Results The serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and cholineacetyl transferase (ChAT) were higher in control group I than that in control group II (P<0.01) .But the serum true choline esterase (TChE) was lower in control group I than in control group II (P=0.000) .The serumTNF-a was...
