| Objectives: The aims of the study were : 1) to understand the variation of the motality and death causes for diabetic inpatients in WCH, 1996～2004; 2) to do a comparison about death cause based on ages, sex, and duration of DM etc;3) to evaluate the proportion of DM patients among the all deathes in our hospital. We hope that these data will provide some primary information for diabetic epidemiological research in the local area.Methods: Collecting and Analyzing all of the materials of DM patients who died during hospitalization in WCH from 1996 to 2004.First, the amount of diabetic inpatients and died persons were got each year by computer seach system of our hospital,and the case code of died diabetic subjects were obtianed. Then, those medical records were investigated and reviewed in details to get useful information . The motality , death causes and its constituent ratio, morbidity rate of some important complication or combination of dead diabetic inpatients were analysed. Data input and analysis were conducted using the tool Epidate3.0 , packages SPSS13 and SAS8.0. |
