The skin color of the human being was different in different race. The skin color of the same race was also different when the living surroundings were different. The skin color of different anatomic sites in one man was different. Measuring skin color by instruments could quantify the change of skin color objectively and accurately so that it could help to diagnosis and treat diseases. Edwards was the first one who used the Chromameter to measure the skin color of living man and reported the change of skin color in the Caucasian volunteers. In china there was less researches about skin color evaluate by non-invasive measurement technique.Objective: To study the relationship between the skin color of the healthy volunteers of Han Nationality in Chengdu and anatomic site, age and sex by non-invasive skin color measurement technique.Methods: The skin color in the forehead, cheek, lateral breast, extensive forearm, flexible forearm and hand back for 200 healthy volunteers in Chengdu aged from18 to 88 (80 males and 120 females) was measured using the spectrophotometer CM-2600d( Minolta Camera Co, Ltd, Osaka, Japan)and the MexameterMx18(Courage-Khazaka Electronic, Koln, Germany).
