Objective: to investigate osteogenetic ability and biological response oftwo kinds of biomaterial-porous nano hydroxyapatite/chitosan and densenano hydroxyapatite/chitosan composite ; comparing difference of osteogenetic ability and biodegradation between two different biomaterial thereby can we reveal some factors in related to osteogenesis ability and biodegradation of two biomaterial acting as bone replacement. Method:24 New Zealand rabbits were recruited in the experiment and animal models of bilateral tibial metaphyseal defects were created by surgery.Two groups were divided according implanted biomaterial,including group A (24 defects in left tibial metaphysis implanted by n-HA /Chitosan composite) and group B(24 defects in left tibial metaphysis implanted by dense n-HA /Chitosan composite).Specimens harvested in 3w ,6w and 9w postoperation were assessed in terms of histology(HE and Masson); Specimens harvested in 6w and 9w postoperation were further assessed by SEM and EDX; the mineral apposition rate (MAR) of bone ingrowth were also evaluated by ways of tetracycline and calcein green labeling.
