In recent years, Bionic manufacturing based on Rapid Prototyping is a hot subject, belonging to multi-disciplinary subject, involved in the manufacturing technology, materials science and computer graphics in biomedicine engineering. It is used widely in the field of reproducing the human skeleton and organ and saving people's life.CT image Processing and 3-D bionic modeling are the primary links for the medical application of Rapid Prototyping. This dissertation is dedicated to the processing algorithm on the basis of RP. After the CT images are adjusted and edged, we analyze several algorithms of image segmentation in the medical image segmentation, which include Fast Marching segmentation, Live Wire segmentation, region growing segmentation and thresholding segmentation. At the same time, we process the skull CT image by means of 8-chained algorithm after segmentation and gain the contour data of skull in human being. The experiment proves that these algorithms have great meaning for clinic through the use of the medical image processing.With CT image processing as the core, a software application is also developed by means of VC++6.0 in Windows XP. It can process the CT skull image in human being, output the interface file and accomplish the sequent design of skull in UG software.We reconstruct the 3-D modeling of human skull in the UG software of CAD, making use of the DAT profile gained by the former software application, which provides a basis for bionic manufacturing. This 3-D modeling can be applied in the field of medicine. At the same time, computer aided design can be done based on the modeling, which will be benefit for the manufacturing of bigger bionic stone.We make and study the experiment on Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing of human skull through the use of LPS600 type machine of Rapid Prototyping and gain the resinous modeling of human skull which will be significant on the field of medicine.Altogether, the thesis develops the technology process including gaining CT...
