Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of expression of adhesion molecules CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes in different types of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and compare effects of AMP579 and adenosine(ado) to the expression of CD11b/CD18 .Methods: The patients(15 patients with acute myocardial infarction diagnosed by clinical symptoms, changes of elereocardio-gram and myocardial biochemical markers, 15 patients with unstable angina pectoris)and 15 mormal individuals were drew blood and every blood sample was divided to seven groups—control(n=15), AMP1 (n=15,AMP579,1μM),AMP2(n=15,AMP579,10μM),AMP3(n=15,AMP579,30μM) and Ado1(n=15,Ado,10μM),Ado2(n=15,Ado,30μM),Ado3 (n=15,Ado,100μM). The expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes were measured by direct immunofluorescence techniques associated with flow cytomerey. Results: Expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes in the CHD patients were markedly higher than those in normal cases (p<0.01), and expression of CD11b/CD18 in AMI and unstable angina pectoris were not significantly different (p>0.05). Adenosine can reduced expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils (495.8167+48.65 in control 442.53+53.87 in Ado1,370.2589+55.47 in Ado2, 339.2689+51.64 in Ado3) and monocytes (524.2775+62.4 in control,460.9438+47.18 in Ado1, 370.6613+53.88 in Ado2, 334.8125+47.67 in Ado3) in AMI and the reduction appear in UAP. Analyse after the atatistics, there are significantly different between control and Ado2,Ado3 in AMI and UAP (p<0.05),But expression of CD11b/CD18 in Ado2 and in Ado3 were not significantly different (p>0.05).AMP579 don't reduce the expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes in AMI and unstable angina pectoris in AMP1,AMP2,AMP3(p>0.05).Conclusions: Expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes in the CHD patients were markedly higher than those in normal cases. Adenosine can reduce the expression of CD11b/CD18 in AMI and unstable angina pectoris on neutrophils and monocytes in 30uM,100uM. AMP579 don't reduce the expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils and monocytes in AMI and unstable angina pectoris in 1uM,10uM,30uM.
