Primary hepatic carcinoma (PHC) is still one of malignant tumors that threaten people's health and life. Surgical resection can be operated in the early state of liver cancer, however many terminal patients will lose the opportunity of surgical therapy. As to the late state of liver cancer, there is not a therapeutic breakthrough, neither actinotheraphy nor chemotheraphy can bring a satisfying effect. Therefore, it is our responsibility to look for effective therapeutic strategies to improve terminal liver cancer survival.Apoptosis, the cell's intrisic death program, plays a crucial role in the regulation of tissue homeostasis, and imbalance between cell death and proliferation may result in tumor formation. Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(TRAIL), is the third apoptosis-inducing molecule belonging to the tumor necrosis factor(TNF) family, except for TNF,FasL. Although both TNF and FasL can induce apoptosis of tumor cells, their applications in clinical therapy are restricted because of large toxicity to normal human cells. TRAIL has been shown to exhibit potent turmoricidal activity in a variety of human cancer cell lines with minimal or no toxicity to...
