Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic ability to differentiate benign from malignant breast lesions by the technological methods and the achieved parameters of diffusion weighted MR imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging. Methods: 50 cases (58 lesions) that were proved by pathologic examination include 30 malignant cases (32 lesions) and 19 benign cases (26 lesions).Using Siemens Magnetom Avanto 1.5T MR and a proprietary phase array breast coil to do both and whole breasts MRI. First, diffusion weighted imaging was done with the single shot SE-EPI sequence, b=0s/mm~2, 400s/mm~2, 600s/mm~2, 800 s/mm~2, 1000s/mm~2; slice thickness, 5mm. Second, dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging was done using FLASH (fast low angle shot) 3D spoiled gradient echo sequence. The sequence parameters were as follow: TR/TE: 4.42ms/1.46ms; slice thickness: 1.2mm. The same sequence was used pre-contrast one time and post-contrast six times with no gap between each post-contras sequence. The overall acquisition time was 7min and 50sec. There was 20sec interval between pre-contrast and post-contrast sequence. The later was acquired 13sec after...
