Objective: The lumbar intervertebral foramen is a osseous path which was enclosed by adjacent superior and inferior notch of vertebrae through which lumbar nerves, intervertebral blood vessels, interspinal ligament and soft tissues pass in or out. As the disease of intervertebral foramina and the around changes of it become increased, the anatomical character of intervetebral foramina become more and more important in the clinic. The measurement study on the lumbar interveteral foramina anciently which focus on the autopsy slightly help to the diagnosis and operations in clinical. X-ray examination and general CT examination can only offer two-dimensional information, cannot form three-dimensional image or display the spatial relationship of pathologic change and the ambience. Our purpose is to take adventage of multi-slice CT to reconstruction and measure the intervertebral foramina, to provide the morphological basis for the diagnosis and treatment for clinical diseases around intervertebral foramina, and to provide data for status anthropology.Method: This study adopts multi-slice CT to implement lumbar intervertebral foramina for 200 normal adults (100 men and 100 women); and adopts computer three-dimensional reconstruction program software and surface shaded display (SSD) to implement three-dimensional reconstruction of the lumbar intervetebral foramina, hence provides three-dimensional display...
