Stomatognathic system is based on the hard tissue, the defect of which is common no matter in daily time or war time. Caries, periodontal disease, tumor, inflammation and trauma could all cause the defect. Nowadays, the rehabilitation of the defect depends more and more on the biomaterials. Among them, hydroxyapatite comes to be widely used because of its similarity of chemical composition and crystal structure with natural bone and so caused superior biocompatibility. With the development of nanomaterials and nanotechnology, it was found that nanophase hydroxyapatite had a better biocompatibility over traditional one. The hydroxyapatite in natural bone tissue was a kind of nanophase hydroxyapatite with a low calcium phosphate ratio about 1.5. If the implant materials could simulate both the chemical composition and nanophase character of human bone, the biocompatibility of the materials might achieve a great improvement.In this study, hydroxyapatite was synthesized under standard calcium...
