Yuyi hairless mouse(YYHL) is the first hairless mouse inbred strain in our country, which was discovered and cultivated by the Center of Laboratory Animals, Zhengzhou University. The primary characteristic of YYHL is that its hair grows normal when birthed, but begin to slough from head after about 14-21 days. Except beard the hair of all over the body has sloughed about 1 week, and it will keep smoothness all its life. In the course of breeding, the following phenomena were covered : The skin ages fast, the action appears sluggish, thoracic gland depauperates ahead of schedule, duration of life becomes short obviously(only about 12 months), the immunologic system and procreate manifest abnormal and so on. And hairless females are fertile as well, but lower in pregnancy rates, display abnormalities in maternal behavior, and nurse its pups improperly. It is difficult that the pups can live to 3 days after birth commonly. To preserve this hairless mutant strain, the reproductive peculiarities and reproductive system of Yuyi hairless mice were studied from 21st generation. To find out the best way of superovulation at the same time, different doses were used to stimulate superovulation of yuyi hairless mice. And acquired embryos of Yuyi hairless mice were frozen, reanimated and transplanted, then the effects in different conditions were contrasted. The best way will be found to supply theories for strain stability, breeding, construction of cryopreserved embryo and the application in biomedicine domain.
