BCPT is a new type of bioactive compounds from paecilomyces tenuipes,we have found BCPT could inhibit MAO-A activity .this study is intended to investigate antidepressant effects and possible mechanisms of BCPT in CUS rats. The main results are as follows:1.Antidepressant effects of bioactive compounds from paecilomyces tenuipes on behavioral despair animal models in miceUsing the forced swimming test and tail suspension test in mice .BCPT 200 mg/kg , 100mg/kg,50mg/kg,25 mg/kg , 12.5 mg/kg shortened the immobility time in forced swimming mice in dose-dependend and time-dependend manner.BCPT 50 mg/kg , 25 mg/kg shortened the immobility time in tail suspension mice.2.Effect of BCPT on MAO-A and MAO-B activity in brain and liver organs of the mice at different timesBCPT, has been characterized in vitro as a potent, irreversible, and mechanism-based inhibitor of the MAO-A isoform with fluorimetricall. The ex vivo effect of BCPT on MAO activity in mouse brain was similar to that observed in vitro, showing more efficacy than in peripheral tissues.Measured using ultraviolet observations mouse brain, the liver organizations Mao reactive. Showed that BCPT 100 mg/kg administration of a certain mouse brain organization MAO-A selective effect.3.Effect of BCPT on Behavior and body weight in chronic...
