Objective To investigate the correlation between gallbladder motor function, plasma cholecystokinin, cholecystokinin receptor of gallbladder and cholesterol in patients with gallstone. The purpose of this study was to identify the role of cholesterol on gallstone formation. Methods The cholesterol in gallstone was studied by enzymic method ,and object of experiment were divided as pigment stones (group A ,13 cases), combination calculus (group B,13 cases), cholesterol stones (group C,13 cases) by the contents of cholesterol(%) in gallstone ,and group D(6 cases) was health persons as controls. Gallbladder motility was studied by ultrasonography in 39 patients with gallbladder stone ;plasma CCK concentration was measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA) in fasting status (CCK-f) and after lipid test meal (CCK); radioligand binding assay of receptors(RBA) was employed to analyze the contents of CCK-AR and activity of CCK-AR shown as KD from 39 gallstone patients who underwend cholecystectomy , and 6 health persons were measured as control. Results (1)Gallbladder volumes were measured by type B ultrasonograph. The fast volume (FV) was D=AB>C. (2) There were no significant difference of the concentration of plasma CCK (on an empty stomach) could be observed among the four groups, but the concentration of plasma CCK after lipid test meal was D=A
