Objective: To examine and analyze syndrome types of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in patients with chronic hepatitis B ( CHB ) ,research the relation between syndrome types of TCM and the distribution of T lymphocyte subsets or NK cells in peripheral blood. Subjects and Methods: Two hundred and eleven subjects with CHB were divided into five types according to the syndrome differentiation of TCM.;The percentage of T lymphocyte subsets and NK cells in peripheral blood were detected in two hundred and eleven patients with CHB by flow cytometry. Results:1. There was very significant difference in the number of each of syndrome types of TCM in patients with CHB ( x~2=94.000,P<0.01).2.Compaerd with health control group, there was no significant difference in the percentage of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets in patients with CHB (P>0.05 ). 3.The percentage of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood were no statistical difference in Ampness-heat Accumulation syndrome , Liver-depression and Spleen-asthenia syndrome,Blood Stasis in Collateral syndrome and Liver-kidney Yin Deficiency syndrome (P >0.05). .4.The percentage of peripheral blood NK cells in patients with CHB was higher than health control group (P<0.05).5.The percentage of NK cells in peripheral blood was statistical difference in Ampness-heat Accumulation syndrome, Liver-depression and Spleen-asthenia syndrome, Blood Stasis in Collateral syndrome and Liver-kidney Yin Deficiency syndrome (P<0.05).
