Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the feature of clinical symptoms and the health-related quality of life(HRQL) in patients with functional gastrointestinal disorder (FGID).Methods: We investigated 2016 patients in 3 hospitals in Jinan in a same time period .These patients were diagnosed as GERD, FD, IBS, FD+IBS, FD+GERD, IBS+ GERD and FD+IBS+GERD.They were investigated by using a questionaire on gastrointestinal symptoms and HRQL.Result:1.The aetiology of GERD, FD and IBS is unknown, but overlap is frequent.2. FD+IBS patients were more likely to be female(male vs female =1:1.8).The overall symptom severity was significantly higher in FD+IBS than in FD and IBS alone. (11.4±0.4 vs 8.8±0.3, 8.5±0.8 vs 6.5±0.2 .P<0.01).The scale of HRQL decreased significantly in FD+IBS patients than in FD and IBS patients .3. Reflux symptoms score in NERD+FD was higher than RE+FD (13.8±2.2 vs 10.5±1.9,P<0.01) . NERD+FD causes a more significant impairment in the quality of life than RE+FD.4. IBS-C patients reported significantly more overall GI symptoms when compared to patients with IBS-D(13.5±7.3 vs 10.1±7.8, P<0.01)and were negatively...
